Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

About Us

Troop 196 was first established in 1962 and is charted through St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg, Il. After a short break between 1986 to 1989 the troop recharted and has been active ever since.

Troop 196 currently has 41 registered Scouts and 24 registered leaders. We camp each and every month. Past campouts have included fishing, rock climbing and rappelling, camping in a cave or on a submarine, biking, hiking, skiing, and canoeing just to name a few. Each summer we attend a week-long summer camp. Traditionally, we attend at least one high adventure trip each year such as Florida Sea Base or Philmont.

The Troop generally meets every Monday throughout the year. Be sure to check the Troop Happenings tab for more info.
